Shelley Moench-Kelly spent her formative years traveling extensively before settling down in Los Angeles to study accounting, culminating with a masters degree. She was a Chief Financial Officer for several successful companies before deciding to switch gears to work in publishing.
Her introduction to the world of publishing took place at The McGraw-Hill Companies in Los Angeles,
where she was an editor for secondary and post-secondary accounting and business textbooks. While
directing curriculum-specific reprint cycles, she concurrently developed and launched a highly successful
interactive lesson planner for teachers in traditional classroom settings as well as educators involved in
distance education.
Shelley then went to work at Creative Age Publications in Los Angeles, an esteemed publishing house
that produces award-winning trade magazines such as Beauty Store Business, Nailpro, Dayspa, Beauty
Launchpad and MedEsthetics. Shelley has been an editor for three of the five publications and has enjoyed
three promotions during her nearly four-year tenure. She is currently the senior editor of Beauty Store Business.
Shelley's freelance writing career has taken her across many different industries and assignments, including ghostwriting, press releases for the entertainment industry, feature articles for the beauty and fashion industries, blogging, and more. She has served as an industry expert at panel roundtables for Cosmoprof North America, Intimate Apparel Business magazine and Sutton McCalister Publishing.
